ITINERARY

Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ouarzazate – Agdez

Welcome to Morocco!

For your first day on this anti Atlas desert tour, we will pick you up from Marrakech (wherever you are in the city) early in the morning, to start traveling through the beaten paths of the Moroccan desert. But before we do that, we will have to cross the high Atlas Mountains range, which will offer us breathtaking views to be remembered forever.

After we drive through the Tizin Tichka Mountain pass, we will get to one of the historical Kasbahs in the region: the Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui in Telouet. Following that, we will visit another historical Kasbah in the area (perhaps the most important one): The Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Next, we will cross Morocco’s Anti-Atlas region and the great Draa Valley dotted with small Berber villages. We will make a stop at one of those villages named Agdez to have dinner and spend the night. 

Day 2: Agdez – Draa Valley – Nkob – Tazarine – Alnif – M’harech gorges

This next day, we will continue our journey through Morocco’s Anti Atlas region with a drive through the Draa Valley which will take us to the Tansikht village. On our tour, we will also visit the impressive palm groves at Nkob alongside impressive sand Kasbahs. After lunch, we will stop at the Mharech Valley to enjoy its majestic beauty. We will spend this night of our anti Atlas desert tour at a local Riad hotel.

Day 3: M’harech – Ramlia – Ouzina – Taouz – Khamlia – Merzouga

In the morning of this anti Atlas desert tour, you will be woken up by the fresh and clean air of the Anti Atlas Mountains at Mharech valley. After a tasty and filling breakfast, we will drive alongside the Oued Ghris region, taking us to Berber desert villages such Ramlia and Ouzina.

For fans of history and ancient civilizations, our next is going to be a treat: We will visit a village called Taouz where we can find ancient Petroglyphs. After this, our last stop before the final destination will be at Khamlia village, which is where the spiritual Gnaoua music originated from. Finally, we will get to the Erg Chebbi desert where we will spend the night in traditional tents.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Boumalne – Dades Valley

The next day, we will be woken up by the mesmerizing desert sunrise, then, we will have breakfast after which we will camel trek back to our vehicles. Next on our journey, we will travel along the Tafilalt valley, past towns such as Rissani and Erfoud. The road will take us to the Todra Gorges near Tinjdad, which are mesmerizing rock formations that attract climbers from all over the world.

We will have lunch and spend some time exploring the site, before continuing to the Dades Valley. This is where we will have dinner and spend the last night of this anti Atlas desert tour.

Day 5: Dades Valley– Col of Tizi-n-Tichka – Marrakech (Last day of this anti Atlas desert tour)

For the last day of this anti Atlas desert tour, we will be heading back to Marrakech city, where our journey started. On our way there, we will drive through the Draa Valley and the Anti Atlas Mountains once more. Following this, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains and the famous Tizin Tichka pass, before finally arriving at Marrakech. This is where our anti Atlas desert tour will end.
