ITINERARY

Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen (Tangier Desert Tours)

Welcome to Morocco!

On this first Day of the Tangier desert tour. We will pick you up in Tangier, either from the airport or the ferry port. However, start exploring this vibrant metropolis. Secondly, The Tour will begin with a stroll alongside the coast. Stop having a visit to the city’s old medina quarter. Following that, we will head to our destination of the day, the Blue Town Chefchaouen. However, Chefchaouen attracts visitors worldwide for the vibrant blue color. And that washes over its buildings and streets is located on the foothill of two Rif Mountains. At least Desert Tour will offer us the rest for relaxing and exploring the town. Moreover, the enjoyable time in its richness, and colorful culture, alongside its mouthwatering cuisine. Finally, we will head to a  traditional Riad, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Roman ruins – Meknes – Fes (Tangier Desert Tours)

Secondly day, we will take the Rif Mountains and head south to one of Morocco’s most important cultural destinations: the city of Fes. On the way there, we will first stop at the Volubilis site, an archeological town of ruins left behind by the Roman Empire. Before moving along to the nearby Meknes city, we will take time to explore the town and learn about its historical significance. Previously nicknamed “Le Petit Paris” during French colonization, Meknes also used to be the Kingdom’s capital in the 17th and 18th centuries under the rule of the Ismaili Dynasty. This period left behind some valuable monuments in the city, which you will get to explore today. Finally, we will continue to Fes city, where we will spend the night at a traditional Riad.

Day 3: Fes Guided Tour (Tangier Desert Tours)

The next day, you will enjoy a traditional breakfast at the Riad before heading out to explore the spiritual capital of Morocco, Fes city. The city is divided into Fes El Bali and Fes Jdid, which translate to the old and new Fes. Our tour will focus primarily on Fes El Bali since that’s where the Old Medina is. The old Medina of Fes resembles a maze in how all of its narrow streets connect and lead to each other, making you feel like you’ve been completely immersed in traditional Moroccan culture. Our tour of Fes will also include iconic monuments such as the Quaraouine University (the oldest still operating university in the world), the Nejjarine museum, and The Bou Inania traditional school. After we finish this, we can visit some parts of Fes Jdid next, where we can find a café with a lovely panoramic view to relax a. Finally, we will return to our Riad to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Middle Atlas – Erfoud – Merzouga (Tangier Desert Tours)

The next day, we will be picking pick you up from the Riad to begin our journey to the Moroccan Sahara desert. The .” trip will take us through the majestic Middle Atlas Mountains with their fertile green and rocky landscape. Our First stop today will be at perhaps the prettiest village in all of Morocco, Ifrane, nicknamed “The Switzerland of Morocco.” In Ifrane, green parks fill the city alongside chalets and other typical European architecture. After a stroll through the town center, we will be moving forward toward our next destination, the Cedar forests of Azrou. What’s so special about these forests is that they are the natural habitat of the native Barbary monkey species. We can have a refreshing walk through the cedar trees and hopefully get a glimpse of the monkeys (they’re accustomed to visitors!). Following this, our journey continues crossing the Atlas Mountains, high-quality, until we start reaching Morocco’s desert with the first desert town: Erfoud. Erfoud is known locally for its high-quality marble, fossils, and dates. We will take this opportunity to have a mouthwatering traditional lunch before continuing with Merzouga’s village, the gateway to the Moroccan desert. At the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, Merzouga is the perfect location for us to begin our camel trekking expedition into the desert. The end destination of the camel trek is a lovely desert camp neatly hidden away between the dunes, where we will spend the night alongside the beats of Berber drums.

Day 5: Merzouga – The Todra Gorge – Valley of roses – Palmeraie of Skoura – Ouarzazate (Tangier Desert Tours)

The next day, the Tangier desert tour will be Fantastic. At least, being woken by the mesmerizing desert sunrise, after which we will see the camel trek back to Merzouga. Back in the town, you can enjoy breakfast and a warm shower at our hotel. Following this, we will start heading to the final destination of this Tangier desert tour: Marrakech city. But before this, our journey will take us to the Todra Gorges near Tinjdad, mesmerizing rock formations that attract climbers from all over the world. We will have lunch and spend some time exploring the site before continuing to the Dades Valley. On the Tangier desert tour, our family will continue traveling alongside a road nicknamed “the road of the Thousand Kasbahs.” the Road contains places such as the valley of Roses and Skoura. Our next stop will be the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an iconic historical monument near Ouarzazate where many big Hollywood movies were shot (Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of heaven, etc.). Finally, we will head to the nearby Ouarzazate city to spend the night.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Marrakech (Tangier Desert Tours)

Today, you will be able to explore Ouarzazate city, also known as the Hollywood of Morocco. The town gained this name for being home to the country’s biggest cinema studios, which took part in producing some important Hollywood movies. After lunch, we will leave Ouarzazate and start heading to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. We will spend the night at a traditional Riad in Marrakech’s old Medina.

Day 7: Marrakech guided Tour (Tangier Desert Tours)

primarily, it will be dedicated to exploring the red city of Marrakech and uncovering its hidden secrets. We will begin our tour at the old medina with its never-ending streets, full of life, colors, and culture. Following this, we will pay a visit to the iconic Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia palace, and the Majorelle garden (this list can be modified according to your liking). In the evening, we will head to the lively Jamaa El Fna square, where you’ll get to see the true vibrant lifestyle of Marrakech city. Finally, we will return to our Riad in the Medina to spend the night.  

Day 8: Marrakech – Transfer to the airport of Marrakech (Tangier Desert Tours)

For the last day of this Tangier desert tour, you will have free time to explore the city, depending on your flight schedule. We can drop you off at the Marrakech Menara airport or the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca.
