DAY 1: TANGIER – CHEFCHAUEN – FES
Welcome to Morocco!
At The Beginning of the tour from Tangier, we will pick you up in Tangier, either from the airport or the ferry port, then start exploring this vibrant metropolis. We will begin with a stroll alongside the coast, then visit the city’s old medina quarter. Following that, we will head to our destination of the day, the Blue Town Chefchaouen.
Located on the foothill of two Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen attracts visitors worldwide for the vibrant blue color that washes over its buildings and streets. We will spend the rest of our day exploring the town and enjoying its rich and colorful culture, alongside its mouthwatering cuisine. Finally, we will continue traveling to Fes city, where we will have dinner and spend your first night on this tour from Tangier.
DAY 2: EXPLORE FES
The next day, you will enjoy a traditional breakfast at the Riad before heading out to explore the spiritual capital of Morocco, Fes city. The city is divided into Fes El Bali and Fes Jdid, which translate to the old Fes and the new Fes. Our tour will focus primarily on Fes El Bali since that’s where the Old Medina is.
The old Medina of Fes resembles a maze in how all its narrow streets connect and lead to each other, making you feel like you’ve been completely immersed in traditional Moroccan culture. Our tour of Fes will also include iconic monuments such as the Quaraouine University (the oldest still operating university in the world), the Nejjarine museum, and The Bou Inania traditional school.
After we finish this, we can visit some parts of Fes Jdid next, where we can find a café with a lovely panoramic view to relax. Finally, we will head back to our Riad to have dinner and spend the night ending the second day of this tour from Tangier.
DAY 3: FES- MIDELT – MERZOUGA DESERT
On the following day of this tour from Tangier, we will pick you up from the Riad to begin our journey to the Moroccan Sahara desert. The trip will take us through the majestic Middle Atlas Mountains with their fertile green and rocky landscape. Our First stop today will be at perhaps the prettiest village in all of Morocco, Ifrane, nicknamed “The Switzerland of Morocco.” In Ifrane, green parks fill the city alongside chalets and other typical European architecture.
After a stroll through the town center, we will be moving forward toward our next destination, the Cedar forests of Azrou. What’s so special about these forests is that they are the natural habitat of the native Barbary monkey species. We can have a refreshing walk through the cedar trees and hopefully get a glimpse of the monkeys (they’re accustomed to visitors!).
Following this, our journey continues crossing the Atlas Mountains until we start reaching Morocco’s desert with the first desert town: Erfoud. Erfoud is known locally for its high-quality marble, fossils, and dates. We will take this opportunity to have a mouthwatering traditional lunch before continuing to the village of Merzouga: the gateway to the Moroccan desert. And to end another day of this tour from tangier, we will have dinner and spend the night at a local Kasbah hotel.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT
Today this tour from Tangier will be spent exploring the desert and exploring different desert activities at Erg Chebbi. If you’re a fan of skating sports, make sure to try out sandboarding in this whole new terrain. Similarly, if you’re a fan of SPA activities and self-care, you can try the famous sand baths rumored to have excellent healing properties.
For lunch, you can try a favorite local meal called Medfouna, a meat-filled pie slow-cooked in fire ashes made in the sand. After that, you can take a camel trek during the sunset to experience the majesty of the desert and get some fantastic landscape photographs. Finally, we will see a camel trek to a desert camp in the evening to enjoy a big feast/party around a campfire. Share desert stories and enjoy gazing at the desert night sky before heading to bed in traditional tents.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA-DADES VALLEY
The next day, we will be woken by the mesmerizing desert sunrise, after which we will see the camel trek back to Merzouga. Back in the town, you can enjoy breakfast and a warm shower at our hotel. Following this, we will start heading to the final destination of this tour: Marrakech city.
But before this, our journey will take us to the Todra Gorges near Tinjdad, mesmerizing rock formations that attract climbers from all over the world. We will have lunch and spend some time exploring the site before continuing to the Dades Valley. This is where we will have dinner and spend the 5th night of this tour from Tangier.
DAY 6: DADES VALLEY-MARRAKECH
For this day of our tour from Tangier, we will have breakfast at the hotel and have some time to explore the Dades valley. When we finish that, we will continue traveling alongside a road nicknamed “the road of the Thousand Kasbahs,” containing places such as the valley of Roses and Skoura.
Our next stop will be the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an iconic historical monument near Ouarzazate where many big Hollywood movies were shot (Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of heaven, etc.). Following this fantasticTizen exploration, we will take on a famous mountain pass called Tizin-Tichka, before finally arriving at Marrakech. We will check in at a traditional Riad to have dinner and spend the night.
DAY 7: EXPLORE MARRAKECH (THE LAST DAY OF THE TOUR FROM TANGIER)
The last day of this tour from Tangier will be dedicated to exploring the red city of Marrakech and uncovering its hidden secrets. We will begin our guided tour at the old medina with its never-ending streets, full of life, colors, and culture. Following this, we will pay a visit to the iconic Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia palace, and the Majorelle garden (this list can be modified according to your liking).
