ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival Casablanca to Marrakech.

Welcome to Morocco!

For the first day of this 12-day Casablanca desert tour, your designated driver will pick you up from the airport or your accommodation, then start exploring Casablanca city. Casablanca is known for many things, including the iconic 1942 movie and the world-renowned Hassan II mosque. We will pay a visit to this architectural gem before continuing our journey to Marrakech, the red city. This is where we will be spending the night.

Day 2: Marrakech.

This next day of our Casablanca tour will be dedicated to exploring the red city Marrakech and uncovering its hidden secrets. We will begin our time at the old medina with its never-ending streets, full of life, colors, and culture.

Following this, we will pay a visit to the iconic Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia palace, and the Majorelle garden (this list can be modified according to your liking).

In the evening, we will head to the lively Jamaa El Fna square, where you’ll get to see the true vibrant lifestyle of Marrakech city. Finally, we will return to our Riad in the Medina to spend the 2nd night of this Casablanca tour.

Day 3: Marrakech & Ouzoud Waterfalls.

Today, we will pick you up from the Riad early in the morning to start traveling through the lush greenery of the Atlas Mountains to get to the fascinating Ouzoud Waterfalls. On our way there, we will stop by Imi Nifri, a natural rock formation resembling an artificial bridge with a nearby stream and stunning landscape.

Once we get to the Ouzoud site, we will first have a traditional lunch at one of the Berber restaurants run by local families. Then, you can enjoy a hike around the valley to explore the area or go in for a swim in the fresh, clean water of the stream. Around the evening, we will return to Marrakech to spend this night of our Casablanca tour.

Day 4: Marrakech to Essaouira.

For the fourth day of our Casablanca tour, we will go on an exciting excursion to Essaouira city, previously known as Mogador. The road trip will be a complete change of scenery from what we’ve been experiencing earlier on tour.

Instead of Mountains and deserts, we will now enjoy the fresh sea breeze of the Atlantic Ocean, a bustling Old Medina, and fresh seafood. You can take a walk alongside the city ramparts, go for a swim at the beach, or wander around the Old town’s streets. You will have the whole day to explore, and by the evening, we will head to a local Riad to spend the night.

Day 5: Essaouira.

Today, you will be helped by a guide to go on a tour of Essaouira city. This way, you can learn about the history and cultural aspects of the town. You’ll visit all sorts of artisans perfecting their crafts for years in the Old Medina. Besides that, the city’s Moorish and Andalusian architecture gives it a special feel unique to only a few towns in Morocco. You can take this opportunity to take memorable photographs of the city before we head to a rooftop café to enjoy a relaxed evening looking over the town.

Finally, we will head back to the Riad to spend the night.

Day 6: Essaouira to Taroudant.

Continuing our Atlantic coast adventures, we will leave Essaouira behind and travel to Agadir city next. But before we do so, we will stop at the Sidi Kaouki beach near Essaouira to enjoy its wild beauty. Next, we will head to a trendy location near Essaouira called Diabat. This is where the famous musician Jimmy Hendrix used to come during his stay at Essaouira in 1968. The area also offers horse riding and camel trekking activities alongside the beach.

Next, we will move to Agadir city, where we can have lunch at one of the fresh seafood restaurants. Following this, we will continue our journey into Berber towns until we get to Taroudant city. We can go for a horse-carriage ride to explore this medieval city before finally checking in to the hotel where we will spend the night.

Day 7: Taroudant to Erg Chigaga Luxury Desert Camp.

The following day, we will leave Taroudant and head to our next destination: the town of Taliouine. This old Berber town is known for being the leading producer of the famous Moroccan Saffron spice. We will have lunch in this forgotten town before continuing to Foum Zguid town, where we will enter the Sahara desert terrain. We will be driving for about 90 Kilometers on an off-piste path that coincides with the old Paris-Dakar Rally route.

In the afternoon, we will reach the Erg Chigaga desert, where we will meet our Camel Caravan. The camels will take us on a ride through the desert dunes, which provides a magical experience when combined with the sun setting on the horizon. After approximately 90 minutes of Camel Trekking, we will head back to the camp in the evening to enjoy a big feast/party around a campfire. Share desert stories and enjoy gazing at the desert night sky before heading to bed.

Day 8: Erg Chigaga Luxury Desert Camp to Zagora.

The next day, we will be woken up by the mesmerizing desert sunrise, after which you are free to spend the morning however you wish. If you’re a fan of skating sports, make sure to try out sandboarding in this whole new terrain. Similarly, if you’re a fan of SPA activities and self-care, you can try the famous sand baths rumored to have excellent healing properties.

For lunch, you can try a favorite local meal called Medfouna, a meat-filled pie slow-cooked in fire ashes made in the sand. After lunch, we will drive around 60 kilometers to leave the Desert and get to a village called Mhamid.

We can visit the underground Tamgroute Kasbah, famous for its skilled pottery artisans. Finally, we will drive straight to the town of Zagora, where we will spend this night of our Casablanca tour.

Day 9: Zagora to Fint Oasis.

We will start our day by exploring the gorgeous Agdez palm groves and meeting with the local Saharan silversmiths. Then, we will cross the Palm and Kasbahs-lined Draa Valley before arriving at Tamnougalt, where we will have lunch. Our last destination of the day will be Flint Oasis, which is a little paradise on earth with its palm trees, vegetation, and clear lake.

We will enjoy the rest of our day in this oasis and then stay at local accommodation.

Day 10: Find Oasis to Ait Ben Haddou.

Have you ever wondered what traditional Berber towns’ lifestyle is like? Well, today, you can experience that for yourself. You will have the whole morning to explore the city, interact with locals, take cooking classes, or even bake some traditional bread!

After lunch, we will move on to our next destination: Ouarzazate city, where we can visit the famous Atlas cinema studios museum. Following that, we will drive to the nearby Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where we will spend our Casablanca tour this night.

Day 11: Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech.

Waking up, you will feel the fresh air of the Moroccan countryside while staying at Ait Ben Haddou. The Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou is a UNESCO world heritage site because of its immense historical and cultural value. The Kasbah has been used as a backdrop for many Hollywood movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and The Mummy.

After some time exploring the Kasbah, we will drive through the High Atlas Mountains and the famous Tizen Tichka passes before finally arriving at Marrakech, where we will spend the last night of this Casablanca tour.

Day 12: Departure Marrakech to Casablanca. (Last day of Casablanca Tour)

For the last day of this 12-day Casablanca desert Tour, you will have free time to explore the city, depending on your flight schedule. We can drop you off at either the Marrakech Menara airport or the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, where our services and your Casablanca tour end.
